What we do
Eddy Grid optimizes renewable assets (solar, wind, and batteries) for Dutch energy producers and large businesses. Our real-time algorithms optimize multiple assets together at a single location, maximizing returns for producers and lowering the net energy bill for large consumers.
By combining intelligent energy management behind the meter (our Orchestrator) with active trading across multiple markets (Day-Ahead, Intraday, Imbalance, aFRR), we deliver better results than managing assets individually, or only optimizing behind the meter.
Who we work with
Producers: wind and solar owners
We help owners of wind and solar parks earn more from their assets in two ways.
Multi-market trading. We trade your energy on Day-Ahead, Intraday, Imbalance and aFRR simultaneously. For wind, that means managing forecast error actively through Intraday, not just at gate closure. For solar, that means curtailing when prices go deeply negative, but only when curtailing is cheaper than the penalty of producing. During price spikes we bring your power to the market that pays most.
Co-location with batteries. When you add a battery to your park, we optimize the assets together as a single location. The battery absorbs wind output during negative prices, charges on solar over midday, dispatches into the evening peak. Each asset is given its own strategy, and those strategies are merged into one integrated plan per grid connection, so the assets never work against each other.
On Ex-Post trading and portfolio netting, we share 75% of the revenue we earn as BRP with you.
Large consumers: grootverbruik locations
We help businesses with a high grid connection lower their net energy bill. By combining intelligent steering of your assets behind the meter (battery, solar, flexible loads) with active trading on energy markets, we make sure every kWh ends up where it earns or saves the most, taking your consumption, your grid costs, your energy tax, and your PPA into account.
The Orchestrator
Trading well is one thing. Steering assets well behind the meter is another. Doing both as one integrated system is what makes the difference.
That is what our Orchestrator does. Every minute, it weighs every trading decision against what is happening behind your meter: your State of Charge, your grid connection limit, degradation, your consumption, your grid costs, your energy tax, a local PPA if you have one. The result is a single integrated strategy per location.
The difference is concrete. A battery that charges high during a cheap market hour can double your capacity costs that same month. Solar you consume yourself often earns more than solar that hits the market. A system that only watches market prices misses that half. Ours does not.
We have been building this since we started. Every edge case we have seen is in the model.
Customer stories
Renewable Factory: optimized on net revenue
Renewable Factory wanted an algorithm trained on their turbine, their location, their specific production profile, not a generic platform managing them alongside a thousand others. When something changes (a new forecast model, a market structure update, a pattern we spotted in their data), it applies immediately, not at the next contract review.
"The collaboration is very smooth. They communicate clearly, respond quickly and genuinely act in our interest."
Marc van der Pluym, CEO Renewable Factory

Energy Eggfarm: two locations, one strategy each
Douwe de Jong runs two locations with us. One has solar and a battery. The other has wind and a battery. We manage each location as a single integrated strategy: asset-specific decisions, translated into one plan per grid connection. The battery on the wind location absorbs output during negative prices. The solar location charges over midday and dispatches in the evening. Neither asset is ever working against the other.
"For us it is important that things stay clear. We want to know where we stand and be certain everything stays within the limits of our grid connection."
Douwe de Jong, Energy Eggfarm

Groetpolder: shared risk, no fixed fees
The Groetpolder operators were among the first in the Netherlands to run wind commercially. That was 1995. Thirty years in, they still manage the park themselves. What they needed was a trading partner that works the same way they do: no guaranteed margins, shared upside, full accountability.
"With you, taking risks together was simply the norm."
Jeroen de Heer, Dirk Nobel and Gertjan Nobel, Groetpolder

How we get paid
A percentage of what we earn for you. No fixed monthly fee. No retainer. No invoice in months where nothing happened. If your asset is idle, so are we. When it earns, we earn alongside.
We have had this model since day one. It has not changed. It is the reason clients stay, and the reason most new clients come through someone who already works with us.
Want to know what your asset is leaving on the table?
Our Quickscan is a free, asset-specific revenue analysis. We model every available income stream for your specific asset, your specific connection, your specific contract. No generic numbers. We are happy to walk through every assumption with you.
