Eddy Grid becomes Balance Responsible Party (BRP) for Sunrock's Dutch solar and battery portfolio

344 MWp of solar and battery capacity across more than 200 sites to fall under Eddy Grid's balancing responsibility from 1 January 2027

Utrecht, 3 November 2026 – Energy technology company Eddy Grid will take on balance responsibility for a large part of Sunrock's Dutch solar and battery portfolio as of 1 January 2027. The agreement covers 344 MWp of solar and battery capacity, spread across approximately 200 sites in the Netherlands.

Sunrock is a leading European provider of integrated renewable energy solutions for the commercial and industrial (C&I) market, with major blue-chip clients in several countries. Building on a strong position in large-scale solar PV (more than 625 MWp), Sunrock combines solar generation with battery storage (BESS), EV charging infrastructure and solutions for local energy consumption. In doing so, Sunrock helps clients generate, store, manage and use energy more effectively. The company manages the entire value chain, from development and financing to construction and operation, and is active in the Netherlands, Germany and France.

Sunrock stays in control, Eddy Grid takes on the complexity

As Balance Responsible Party (BRP), Eddy Grid is responsible for imbalance settlement with grid operator TenneT. Through Eddy Grid's platform, Sunrock gains market access for its own trading activities. Sunrock remains at the wheel, while also benefiting from the positions in Eddy Grid's wider BRP portfolio. This can reduce imbalance costs.

Every transaction, position and result is visible down to connection level and linked to metering data. This gives Sunrock full insight and control, while Eddy Grid takes the complexity of the energy market off its hands.

"Sunrock builds and manages one of the largest rooftop solar portfolios in Europe. Their choice of Eddy Grid as BRP for their Dutch solar and batteries is a strong signal of trust. Sunrock decides for itself how it trades. We make sure the settlement with TenneT is right, and make every result visible down to the connection."

— Sam Rohn, CEO and Co-founder, Eddy Grid

"With solar and batteries at more than 200 sites, having a grip on imbalance is essential for us. With Eddy Grid we keep control over our own trading, and we get full transparency down to connection level."

— Bram Poeth, CEO Sunrock
