DSG trades with confidence thanks to BRP-Service
BRP service with full market access
“What really works well for us is the speed of Eddy Grid. When we run into something, it is picked up and scheduled immediately. That is very different from large organizations, where things tend to get stuck or have to pass through multiple layers. The direct way of working together is a major advantage for us.” Martijn Vermeer, Chief Assets & Innovation Officer, DSG
DSG is one of the largest players in sustainable energy in the Netherlands. The company manages a rapidly growing portfolio of flexible energy assets, including more than one million solar panels. For DSG, active trading was a logical next step to unlock more value from its assets. Initially on the Day Ahead market, and later also on Intraday and Ex-Post. At the same time, DSG wanted to remain in full control of volumes, bids and strategy, with continuous insight into performance and revenues.
Staying in control in a complex market
For DSG, the challenge is not defining the right trading strategy. The real complexity lies in everything required to execute that strategy properly. Market access, BRP responsibilities, nominations and metering corrections form the foundation, while rules from grid operators and market parties continue to evolve.
With these questions, DSG turned to Eddy Grid. What started as a pragmatic collaboration quickly grew into a long-term partnership, focused on building and continuously improving together.
“We can have very open and in-depth discussions with Eddy Grid about what is needed and which solution fits best.”
BRP Service as the foundation
With its BRP service, Eddy Grid enables DSG to trade independently, while all operational and administrative processes are fully taken care of. DSG determines its own volumes and bids and trades directly on the market. Eddy Grid ensures that all conditions are met behind the scenes.
Through the dashboard, DSG has daily insight into meter readings, expected revenues and realized results. Market access, nominations and metering corrections are processed automatically, and trading and metering data are connected via APIs. This creates a solid foundation that works today and leaves room for future growth.
How it works in practice
From the very beginning, DSG and Eddy Grid have worked with short lines and frequent alignment.
“Because we discuss things early, major bottlenecks simply do not arise.”
For DSG, this means peace of mind, clarity and speed. They have continuous insight into performance and can rely on the administrative and technical processes being handled correctly. By now, DSG and Eddy Grid are looking beyond the Netherlands and are taking steps towards expansion into Belgium.
This allows DSG to focus on value creation and further growth, with the confidence that the foundation under its own trading activities is rock solid.
